What is Blended Learning?
Blended learning combines the convenience of online learning with a shortened practical skills session. The integration of web-based learning provided through blended learning allows for a variety of sensory interactions that provide users with a low-stress, easy to use, and convenient way to learn. Blended learning provides flexibility, convenience and cost savings for an organization or employer. Blending learning courses are available in both English and Spanish.
CPR & AED for Community and Workplace
($35 Blended Learning — $45 In-Person Instruction)
Miami CPR Academy provides instruction and certification in CPR and AED for the Community & Workplace, an American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI) program. Designed for non-professional responders required to have CPR and AED knowledge or for those who simply want to help in an emergency, the CPR and AED for the Community and Workplace program teaches the skills to respond in a cardiac emergency.
This course focuses on sudden cardiac arrest, heart attack, stroke, airway obstruction, CPR, and the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED). Program content is based on the American Heart Association Guidelines for CPR and ECC as well as other evidence-based treatment recommended.
This extremely flexible program will help employers meet OSHA and other federal and state regulatory requirements for training employees how to respond and care for medical emergencies at work. This program is not intended for persons in the healthcare field.
Miami CPR Academy offers CPR and AED for the Community and Workplace as a blended learning course (1–2 hour independent on-line learning with a 1–1.5 hour in-person skills session) or as an in-person course (3–4 hours).
Course Time Frame: 2 to 5 hours
Course Certification: Valid for two-year period
CPR for Medical Professional or Professional Rescuer/CPR Pro
($50 Blended Learning — $60 In-Person Instruction)
Miami CPR Academy provides instruction and certification in CPR for the Professional Rescuer (CPR Pro), an American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI) program. Students learn how to recognize a life-threatening emergency, how to provide basic life support and what to do in case of an airway obstruction or choking.
CPR Pro has been approved for training for Emergency Medical Services personnel and is accepted by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT). CPR Pro is also recognized and approved by CECBEMS which is the national accrediting body for Emergency Medical Services continuing education courses and course providers.
CPR Pro is designed for individuals in the healthcare or professional rescuer field that are required to have professional-level basic life support training.
Miami CPR Academy offers CPR Pro as a blended learning course (1 hour independent on-line learning with a 2 hour in-person skills session) or as an in-person course (4–5 hours).

Course Certification: Valid for two-year period
Basic First Aid for the Community and Workplace
($35 Blended Learning — $45 In-Person Instruction)
Miami CPR Academy provides instruction and certification in Basic First Aid for the Community and Workplace, an American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI) program. The Basic First Aid for the Community and Workplace program teaches how to properly apply first aid skills to save lives and reduce recovery time. This course is ideal for emergency response teams in business and industry, school bus drivers, adult residential care personnel, child care workers, teachers, parents, and babysitters. Topics covered in the program: emergency response; bleeding, shock, and soft-tissue injuries; bone, joint and muscle injuries; medical emergencies; heat and cold related illnesses and injuries.
Course Time Frame: 2 to 4 hours
Course Certification: Valid for three-year period
